"Messiah Sing"
First Presbyterian Church
Sunday, December 4, 2011 • 3 p.m.
Handel's Messiah is a timeless classic that we gladly offer to the citizens of Fayetteville as our gift to the community. More important, it is your moment to sing! If you have performed Messiah in the past, we urge you to join us on stage! Begin the holiday season with us and the
Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra!
"Beethoven Symphony No. 9 in D Minor, Op. 125"
with the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra
Saturday, March 24, 2012 • 7:30pm
Reeves Auditorium
March will usher in new partnerships as we will be coordinating with area university and community choirs to present this Beethoven work under the baton of Dr. Fouad Fakhouri and the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra! The work features Beethoven’s timeless setting of Friedrich Schiller’s “Ode to Joy.” The gathered choirs, to be called “The Spring Festival Chorus,” hope to make major choral works a tradition in Fayetteville!
“Let Your Light Shine”
Friday, May 11, 2012 • 7:30pm
St. Ann Catholic Church, Fayetteville, NC
Lux Aeterna, Morton Lauridsen
The concept of light is very powerful in both poetry and song. The five movements of Lux Aeterna are based on various references to light from sacred Latin texts. The power and finesse of Lux Aeterna will speak to each of us in its own way.
